It currently takes the same amount of time to process an average American mortgage as it does to walk nonstop from Manhattan to San Francisco! Xpanse is working to change that.

It’s our mission to create a universal platform that brings clarity, ease, automation and security to the origination process. Our SaaS platform will power the mortgage industry and its relationships with a massive network of third-party providers that are integral to the mortgage process. By focusing on the customer, using automation, real-time intelligence, big data, and analytics we are changing the way borrowers, lenders, servicers, and service providers take care of business.

Disrupting an industry is a team sport, so we are looking for the best and brightest to make an impact and change the future of an $11 trillion industry.  We are growing rapidly and looking for a Principal Product Designer to join our team.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Define the north star, craft, and deliver the design for digital mortgage experiences, from concept to execution, for the digital mortgage business-to-consumer space helping lending providers and home buyers simplify the mortgage application journey.
  • Collaborate with other Interaction Designers, User Researchers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to invent and iterate on experiences that start and end with the home buyer and mortgage applicant.
  • Iterate on designs based on feedback from users, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Work with the engineering team to ensure designs are implemented to spec and collaborate with them to come up with creative design solutions when technical challenges arise.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You are scrappy, agile and full of initiative. You regularly push your comfort zone to stretch and improve yourself and the team.
  • You are highly collaborative, with a proven track record for partnering closely with other teams to influence positive outcomes and propose well-informed new directions
  • You are obsessed about customer experience. You never settle for good enough, and continually inspire those around you to do better for the customer.
  • You have domain knowledge (or a deep curiosity and motivated interest to learn) in financial services in general and in the mortgage industry in particular is highly valuable, though not required.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
  • You love to dive into unknown territory and invent simple, elegant solutions to complex challenges, sometimes with no clear precedent in today’s world. You possess a relentless desire to innovate, balanced with business and user interaction priorities.

BACKGROUND/SKILLS NEEDED

  • 10+ years’ professional experience in UX Design or related field, driving compelling digital UX design strategy and execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Graphic Design, HCI or equivalent.

  • Experience using Axure, Photoshop, InVision, Figma, or similar tools.
  • Experience designing for large-scale experiences for consumer, e-commerce, enterprise applications, or tech.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of user task and goals identification, process flows, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs.
  • Fluency in best practices for information architecture and interaction design for transactional system or other similar application.
