Team Description

About DocSend, a Dropbox Company

DocSend is shaping the future of how businesses put documents to work. Our 17,000 customers rely on us to send documents or folders with a single link, track who’s interacting with those documents, and get key contracts and NDAs signed. From founders to sales teams, we power the most important documents while delivering unparalleled security and control.

Role Description

DocSend's engineering team is growing rapidly, having doubled in the second half of last year. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to help cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment that inspires people to do their best work. You'll be partnering with product and design to help your team deliver innovative solutions. You'll immediately start managing a few engineers as part of a single project team, and then you will partner with Engineering Leadership and Recruiting to attract new, talented engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, support, and mentor a diverse group of engineers
  • Be responsible for continuously improving the productivity of your team
  • Support your team during in-depth technical planning discussions with engineers, product, and design; empower them to make effective decisions
  • Remove roadblocks for your team and escalate when you need additional context or direction
  • Promote a culture of feedback and transparent communication
  • Partner closely with leadership, HR, and Recruiting to attract, recruit, and retain diverse engineers at DocSend
  • Establish measurable goals for your team's productivity and impact

Requirements

  • Experience as an engineering manager or technical lead who has coached and mentored other engineers
  • Experience building scalable products in fast-paced environments
  • Mastery of Rails or similar web development experience
  • Passion for making progress in DE&I
  • Experience or familiarity with Agile
  • Prioritize being product-driven over being process-driven

Dropbox is an equal opportunity employer. We are a welcoming place for everyone, and we do our best to make sure all people feel supported and connected at work. Additional Perks + Benefits

In order to be successful in our Virtual First environment we needed to make changes that would allow employees to have more control over both where and how they work. Therefore, we embrace “non-linear workdays” with defined core collaboration hours that overlap across time zones. Beyond that, we encourage employees to design their own schedules to balance collaboration with needs for individual focus. We’ve also moved from “all day syncs” to an “async by default” culture, reserving meetings for discussion, debate, and decision-making, and handling all other work in our deep focus hours.
