Job Summary:

At Navigating Cancer, our mission is to improve the lives of cancer patients and those who care for them. We enable oncology clinics to provide personalized, efficient care to every patient by providing relevant educational materials, giving the whole care team visibility to patient issues and needs, and delivering useful insights so that care teams can identify and resolve gaps in care. Through our platform, patients receive a holistic service offering to support their individual goals and needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 7 to 9 engineers.
  • Develop and grow your team through weekly 1-1s, mentorship, and feedback.
  • Be a hands-on leader responsible for the growth of individual team members, and the successful delivery of technical projects
  • Facilitate day-to-day activities for x-functional agile engineering team(s), including daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews
  • Provide architectural and design guidance for building high quality Ruby on Rails applications
  • Collaborate with product managers, technical project managers, and other engineering leaders to define the product roadmap, technical strategy, and delivery milestones for your team(s)

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience leading teams building multi-tenant SaaS products
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment (Scrum) is a must
  • Strong communication, client services, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience or familiarity solving problems across a heterogeneous (multiple technology) platforms 
  • Fierce passion for collaboration, mentoring, and growing others
  • Must have bias for action, and experience making things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experienced managing offshore team members
  • Excitement for the mission of Navigating Cancer and a strong desire to impact an up-and-coming health care technology start-up
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field

Technical Requirements:

  • 5+ years of building web applications using Ruby on Rails with JavaScript libraries and frameworks (e.g. VueJS, Svelte, etc...)
  • Prior experience bringing Ruby on Rails applications up-to-date with current standards
  • Experience in developing secure & cloud-native API solutions
  • Passion about the way you develop software, a keen desire to test and monitor all aspects of a complete web application stack
  • Experienced with common software delivery tools like Git, Jira, and Jenkins
  • Experienced with both Relational and Document-centric data stores

The ideal candidate will also have, but not required:

  • Experienced working in Healthcare Tech
  • Experienced with Healthcare Interoperability standards: HL7, CDA, FHIR
  • Contributions to the open-source community
