Research Engineer
The Specialist Engineer - Research will join our research development team. As a member, they will participate in inventing and implementing techniques for geospatial data extraction with the intent of creating new products and solutions for our different market verticals. We are looking for a candidate who will enjoy working as part of a group, and is enthusiastic about making a difference in the future of our company.
Our research team has collective expertise in computer vision, machine learning, imaging, photogrammetry, physics, math, electrical, aeronautical and software engineering. We are looking for a like-minded individual who enjoys a challenge and will be able to add a new perspective to our team. Our ideal candidate is one who is passionate about their career and has proven success with what they do. As a member of an agile team, you'll participate in all aspects of software development lifecycle. You must be able to work well in a highly collaborative setting, and have the mindset for finding creative and innovative solutions to the complex challenges facing our team. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for testing, implementing and creating state-of-the-art algorithms and processes to aid in generating new products or improving existing ones.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Research methods for extracting actionable information from our image database as well as additional geospatial data sources.
- Test and review new technologies and their future application
- Develop novel technology from inception to production, participating in all parts of software development
- Masters or PhD level education or equivalent industry experience in Computer Vision or equivalent field
- Strong C++ and software design skills
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment
- Experience developing in Linux environments preferred.
- Background in Structure from Motion, Multi-View Stereo, and Remote Sensing a plus
