Senior Software Development Engineer​

 

Expedia Media Solutions Ads Engineering is dedicated to building innovative solutions for travel advertisers enabling them to use Expedia's network of leading travel brands and global sites. We have revolutionized the way brands reach and connect with online travel consumers, emerging as a leader in online advertising sales among travel and e-commerce brands. With a growing product portfolio offering a multitude of advertising and sponsorship opportunities, our Media Solutions team at Expedia has created a viable marketing platform for advertising partners to reach the 112 million worldwide monthly unique visitors that visit Expedia Group sites.

What you'll do:

  • Design scalable, fault-tolerant software for serving ads across all Expedia Group pages

  • Develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software

  • Take initiative to describe and build new projects that simplify existing problems

  • Communicate with other technical teams, and leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, and review technical designs

  • Mentor junior engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities

 

 

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • 6+ years professional experience as a software engineer

  • Deep understanding of software design principles, algorithms, data structures, and multi-threading concepts

  • Fluent with functional, imperative, and object-oriented languages; knowledge of Java, Scala, and JavaScript would be especially useful

  • Experience developing in AWS or similar cloud platforms. Preferred: S3, ECS/Docker, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudFormation

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
