Conversational Understanding and Automation (The Team):

We’re a team of software engineers who are passionate about technology, software development and machine learning. Our teams are autonomous, self-learning and provide support for the product. You will be part of our on-call team and work with stakeholders in a collaborative manner. We recognize that things are not perfect here and we admit that we have challenges which need to be tackled. However, we are continuously improving and learning. 

The Role:

We are looking for a smart, self-motivated software developer to join the Conversational Understanding and Automation team. Good testing expertise, deep knowledge about reactive systems and the ability to work with distributed systems is essential for this role. As an SDE III, we expect you to contribute to the technical vision of the group. You will design, craft, communicate and own its delivery. An ideal candidate will have some experience with Machine Learning and Data Science, an Engineer that can read model specifications and can make it run on a bigger scale.

Fast Feedback:

While developing we optimize for fast and data-driven feedback. We prototype and evaluate solution ideas. We capture behaviour in examples. From these scenarios we derive our tests and, preferably, drive them outside-in. We think this is a crucial mindset for a senior position. How do you get feedback from your code? If you have working experience with TDD, we want to know more. How much? Compared to us, how did you do it? What problems did you face? The more the better!

Technologies we use:

Most of our code is written in Scala and Java. We would be especially interested in candidates from this technological background but are open to other experiences as long as you have a very good understanding of object oriented programming, have experience in functional programming.
