The Role:


We are looking for best-in-class Software Development Engineers to join our teams as we scale our products globally. Software Engineering at Tango Card is a truly collaborative process, where you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the entire SDLC - from requirements and design all the way through testing and release. We empower our Engineers to pick the right technologies and architecture for the job, and provide true ownership and accountability for your solutions. Our services enable organizations to increase employee engagement and brand loyalty at tremendous scale - so if you’re excited about working in a fully CI/CD pipeline, within a highly distributed microservices architecture, we’d love to hear from you!

As a Software Development Engineer at Tango Card, here are some of the things you may have recently worked on:

  • Worked with the team to design and implement a new microservice
  • Improved the UI workflow of one of our products based on data driven decisions
  • Started up dependencies to run your local environment, with possibly up to 40 services 
  • Collaborated with teammates and leadership on new feature design elements
  • Worked with other dev teams at Tango Card to establish acceptance criteria for tickets
  • Backlog refinement with a stakeholder to clarify a story before the next sprint 
  • Deployed your code using our CI/CD pipelines shortly after it’s completed the team review - no waiting for release day at Tango Card!
  • Tested your feature using feature flags before releasing it to our customers
  • Improved the fully automated CI/CD process to reduce deployment time to production systems
  • Met with a technical guild in order to provide the feature teams with proposals
  • Demoed your own personal sprint work, followed by a sprint happy hour

To be a successful Engineer at Tango Card, the following skills and experience is expected:

  • 4 years of industry experience shipping high quality web-based software
  • Demonstrated expertise using server side technologies like Java and Spring MVC
  • 4 years of experience with data modeling and data repositories 
  • Strong understanding of front end technologies using modern frameworks like Angular, Vue, or React
  • A passion and innate curiosity to learn new technologies and methods

Our ideal candidate will also bring some of the following experience:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science 
  • Experience building large-scale cloud hosted solutions via AWS, with hands on experience in EC2, ECS, S3, Lambdas, ELB’s, RDS, Elasticsearch, Redis, GraphQL, RabbitMQ, SQS, SNS, Kinesis and/or IAM 
  • Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity or an interest in security, privacy, and encryption techniques
