Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure 24x7 availability and responsiveness of services and infrastructure - including networking infrastructure, cloud environments, security tools, web applications, and third-party tools.
• Participate in on-call rotation for production services.
• Work closely with software, quality, and release engineers to ensure the software is built, tested, and deployed correctly and consistently.
• Manage all engineering code repositories, including branching, backup, access, and creation.
• Install, maintain, and manage hardware and networking infrastructure for the software engineering team.
• Validate and research future hardware product decisions

Required Qualifications

• Direct experience with Git version control systems and hosting platforms (GitLab, GitHub).
• Experience with the Linux ecosystem and enterprise hardware.
• Experience with one or more virtualization infrastructures, e.g. VMware, KVM, HyperV.
• Knowledge of networking and application protocols, e.g. TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, LDAP, TLS/SSL.
• Security-oriented mindset in all operational matters.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Scripting skills on Unix/Linux platforms; Python and bash preferred.
• History of working with CI/CD build pipelines.
• Practical knowledge of building and using docker containers.
• Cloud virtualization platform experience, such as AWS EC2/EKS, Azure, or GCE/GKE.
• Experience working with container orchestration such as Kubernetes, Mesos, Docker Swarm.
• Exposure to infrastructure and configuration management tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Experience building and troubleshooting servers and hardware components.
