Financial Analyst

Position Summary:

Trupanion is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team. This person will join the Finance team to provide timely and accurate information to the business-critical to the company achieving its financial and operational goals. The right person for this role is exceptionally analytical, curious, and creative; and is passionate about helping pets.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Build and maintain planning, forecasting and other financial models for strategic areas of the business.
• Monitor key metrics, highlight trends and explain variances to forecast within financial results.
• Prepare monthly budget versus actual reporting. Communicate results to department budget owners.
• Partner with key stakeholders across the business to drive forecast and planning.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and project support for business management.

Education, Registration & Certification:

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting

Experience:

• 1-2+ years of experience in finance/accounting
• Public company experience is a plus

• Experience with SQL a plus

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to compile and analyze data and identify trends
• Proficiency with building data visualizations and interactive dash boards
• Energetic and highly motivated, with the tendency to be flexible and excel in a fast-paced environment
