About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join Highspot’s Accounting team. This role will support all aspects of Highspot’s General Ledger team, with key focus on G&A, fixed asset, and lease accounting. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment. They are dynamic, motivated, and have strong communication skills. They have a strong understanding of GAAP and have relevant industry experience.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and other analytics in a variety of complex and technical accounting areas, in support of month-end close.
  • Perform analytic review of account movements and communicate with finance partners and accounting leadership. 
  • Manage key owned and leased capex life cycle events.
  • Develop new processes as the business grows and develops. Identify improvement opportunities to drive positive change.
  • Drive projects, provide accounting guidance and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to resolve issues. 
  • Prioritize tasks and execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month.
  • Escalate risks and issues as necessary to leadership.
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by complying with Highspot accounting policies and internal controls for your areas of ownership.
  • Research and document accounting issues, policies, and controls.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or higher education equivalent
  • Excellent ability to analyze financial data and identify anomalies; advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • 5+ years of public and/or industry experience. Experience in a fast-paced SaaS organization a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business partners and drive meaningful change through process development and/or improvement
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, communication skills, and ability to prioritize multiple deliverables
  • Working knowledge of the COSO internal control framework and a solid understanding of the concepts of control design and operational efficiency
  • Familiarity with GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
  • Experience with researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
  • Demonstrated history of solving complex accounting challenges 
  • Familiarity with lease accounting under ASC 842 a plus 
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus
  • CPA Preferred

Location

Our HQ is located within walking distance of Pike Place Market and the Seattle Piers. With amazing 360 views of the Puget Sound and Downtown Seattle. The only downside, there are almost too many places to pick for your lunch meetings.
