Staff Accountant

We’re excited to be hiring a Staff Accountant to the growing team at Mason. In this role, you will be
asked to help assist through many aspects of the day to day operations on the accounting and
finance team. Specifically, your responsibilities will include monthly reconciliations, AR/AP, cash
collections, inventory accounting, revenue recognition and other ad-hoc projects. You will be
working collaboratively across the team to drive tasks to completion, helping in establishing new best
practices, and assisting with implementing tools to help create automation and efficiency. If you’re

What you'll work on:
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the month-end close process
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial data in support of management reporting, including critical operational KPI with investor visibility
- Create monthly AR billings, support schedules & follow-up on outstanding balances
- Perform bank account and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll submissions
- Prepare weekly wires and reconcile open AP balance
- Assist process improvement projects to streamline and automate manual workflows
- Provide support to Finance management and other internal customers, including team budgeting and working capital analysis
- Research GAAP and other accounting issues as identified, including ASC606
- Support other special projects according to the needs of the Company
- Manage the tax, accounting, and finance calendar to ensure all filings and reports are completed before the deadline
- Manage and file various direct and indirect tax filings
What you bring to the table
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years progressive accounting experience
- Pursuing CPA preferred, but not required
- Proficient Excel capabilities
- Strong Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is a plus
