The Role

Outreach is growing and we are looking for a Chief People Officer who will be a member of our Executive team. As the Chief People Officer at Outreach you will report to our Chief Operating Officer. The Chief People Officer will be a critical and foundational component of the senior team, responsible for designing, building and maintaining the talent management and cultural practices for the enterprise. Outreach created the sales engagement category, and our vision is to transform how customer facing teams engage with their prospects and customers. This senior leadership position is responsible for all elements of people management and is expected to set the tone from a talent and culture perspective across the enterprise. You will partner with the Executive team to develop and implement people strategies that align with our business objectives and values. Along with the Executive team you will develop workplace practices that support an exceptional candidate and employee experience. You will continue to develop and execute the core values, policies, and processes for the company and be a true business partner to the board and senior leadership team. You will also partner with hiring managers to onboard talent to scale the company that is in line with our strategic objectives and the values of the organization.

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • Organizational Assessment & Design: Educate, advise, and influence business leaders on organizational design, organizational development, competency models, leadership development, employee engagement and retention, performance criteria and measurement, succession planning, talent reviews and change management
  • Learning and Development: Create learning and development programs to prepare employees for more significant responsibilities as the company grows and scales
  • Culture and Employee Experience: Define and drive a culture that embodies Outreach’s values, and that rewards, promotes and encourages high performance throughout the organization. Ensure cultural consistency as Outreach grows and scales, and set up infrastructure to manage through change and maintain trust and communication across all levels and functions
  • Talent Acquisition: Optimize and scale the overall team and process for recruiting, including team structure, candidate evaluation processes, interview best practices, candidate follow-up, recruiting KPIs and their continuous improvement to drive the growth strategy
  • Compensation and Benefits: Develop and manage a competitive, contemporary compensation program by completing regular market analysis, designing pay structures, conducting cost analyses and effectively implementing improvements
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Focus on recruiting and hiring diverse candidates. Creating an inclusive culture that encourages and supports diversity of thought and rewards the implementation of creative solutions

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in a relevant field required and SPHR certification preferred
  • 15+ years direct combined Human Resources, People Operations and/or Talent Acquisition experience
  • 5+ years leading HR/People Ops/Talent Acquisition teams in high growth companies
  • Proven success leading people/talent function at a high growth startup or a high growth division within a larger company
  • Function as a senior business executive who can add perspective and leadership beyond functional responsibility with a track record of helping to develop a People function that is a mission-critical partner in the business' success
  • Track record of developing innovative and forward-thinking talent strategies and initiatives, and successfully scaling a compelling company culture
  • Hands-on leader with the ability to attract a highly motivated and talented team
  • Deep appreciation for the importance of team design and people alignment
