About the Role

Loftium is a rocket ship of a company, moving into scale mode and growing extremely fast. We spend nearly all our time on the destination: serving more customers and serving them better. This role, in contrast, is focused on the ship, and the people on that ship. We’re looking for a passionate, energetic and driven person who cares for nothing more than empowering and supporting the people around her/him.

He or she will be responsible for being the main point of contact for all employee related HR questions, concerns and guidance. The position will formulate partnerships cross-functionally to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. This position will report to People Op

  • You are someone who loves to build employee happiness programs and truly own them. Since we are a quickly evolving organization, your programs will have to quickly evolve as well
  • Ideally you’ve worked in People Ops/ HR team at fast growing start-ups or companies in the past
  • You have worked with HR systems and have a preference for which you like and why. You’ve owned payroll before and also have a perspective on which tool you prefer.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a resource and trusted partner to employees by explaining and implementing processes, procedures, or providing information needed on general employment/ HR related topics
  • Creates and maintains employee policies, taking a modern, innovative approach to balance employee experience with legal requirements. Ensures compliance with all legal requirements and government reporting regulations related to employment, including but not limited to EEO, FLSA guidelines, harassment and discrimination, and other applicable federal and state requirements 
  • Advises and maintains all people technology tools and identify opportunities to increase automation and efficiency to allow Loftium to scale rapidly
  • Maintains up to date employment records and proactively improve key documentation to stay ahead of legal changes. 
  • Processes background checks for potential candidates
  • Partners with benefits broker to design and implement benefits program. Identifies vendor relationships to support overall employee wellness
  • Maintains and promotes a safe and positive work environment. Establishes and maintains credibility throughout the organization in order to function as an internal advisor regarding employee relations 
  • Administers and coordinates various benefits offered by the company - ensures the accurate and timely processing of enrollments, terminations, additions and changes
  • Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action
  • Supports the talent acquisition team with candidate scheduling and candidate experience, including offers and compensation
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of HR experience in a high- growth startup, with experience in navigating a company through complex federal and multi-states employment laws and regulations
  • SHRM or other HR credential preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and maintain productivity during periods of uncertainty
  • Bonus: Experience with Gusto and/or Lever, real estate or Airbnb experience
