About the Role:
PitchBook's HR Specialist supports the company's continued growth as a member of the People Team to provide support to several of our key functions including: new hire onboarding, HRIS administration, compensation administration, and employee data reporting. You will collaborate with the People Team to continue to scale and enhance our People processes to impact the employee journey at PitchBook.  Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee data tracking and changes (via Workday and other systems) to ensure record keeping and reporting requirements are accurate and timely while acting as a liaison to the parent company for systems and processes. Ensure all necessary HR-related employee documents are appropriately signed, filed and audited
  • Serve as PitchBook's new employee ambassador and initial contact before their start date by sending first-day need-to-know information and instructions while making new employees feel prepared for day one. Assist new employees with onboarding tasks as needed and ensure completion
  • Manage the PitchBook HR inbox to ensure employee questions and concerns are addressed. Direct and escalate questions or concerns to other People team members as needed
  • Partner with stakeholders to leverage and continuously improve system processes to help us scale efficiently
  • Support employee compensation processes including change requests, bonus processing, and commission payments
  • Assist with ad hoc audits and report generation as needed
  • Facilitate and respond to unemployment inquiries and employment verifications
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws in all employee-related practices including FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, EEO, ADA, and related SOX compliance areas
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3+ years of previous experience in Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting or related field
  • Working knowledge of HRIS, payroll systems (Workday and ADP preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and protect employee privacy
  • Demonstrated success in problem-solving and ownership to resolve issues
  • Process-oriented, organized, metrics-driven with amazing attention to detail
  • Demonstrated success in a role requiring extensive customer interaction
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
