Smartsheet is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner with a track record of success. We are a growing HR team in a high-growth Software as a Service (SaaS) company. The role will provide key support for employee engagement, learning & development, performance management, training, and other programs. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and will mainly support our G&A leaders.

  • Partner with C-suite senior leaders to drive effective and efficient talent management and strategy 
  • Support the HR department in the deployment of employee engagement programs designed to improve retention, motivate staff, develop managers, and identify high potential employees
  • Create and deliver varied training content, including programs that support the development of employees and managers
  • Partner with managers on best practices for career coaching and employee efficiency
  • Manage performance improvement processes with managers and employees, including crafting, delivering and monitoring performance plans
  • Manage employee relations issues with managers and employees, including partnering with outside legal counsel as necessary
  • Guide and support annual performance review process, including coaching managers, and managing data, workflow, and analysis
  • Provide general employee support and respond to employee inquiries
  • Maintain and update multiple HR systems of record
  • Prepare and maintain reports and analyze data for managers and staff
  • Manage and maintain confidential records and information


  • 3-5 years of direct HR experience with emphasis on employee and manager engagement
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with individuals inside and outside Smartsheet in a way consistent with our values and commitment to service
  • Direct, approachable, and clear written and verbal communicator
  • Strong attention to detail with high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently, manage shifting priorities, demonstrate good personal judgment, and effectively handle tasks under pressure
  • Flexibility in handling workload fluctuations and multiple requests
  • Acute understanding of confidentiality and access to sensitive information
  • Advanced level of proficiency using Microsoft Office and Google for Work
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience with Smartsheet and Paycom a plus
