What we're looking for:
Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, the Payroll and Compensation Specialist will be responsible for various aspects of payroll and being instrumental in providing accurate and reliable data for reporting purposes. This is a great opportunity for a payroll clerk to make the leap to a more involved position.
What you'll do: 

  • Own commissions calculations and semi-monthly payroll processing.
  • Manage bonus accruals, signing bonus tracking and referral bonus payouts.
  • Participate in monthly/quarterly closing procedures such as accruals, account rollovers/reconciliations, and other miscellaneous journal entries for the company.
  • Assist with audit preparation- including 401K, Federal, multi-State, and local tax authorities. 
  • Perform other accounting, financial or administrative tasks as required.
  • Ensure all records are maintained in accordance with GAAP.
  • Resolve assigned discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Prepare journal entries for adjustments as needed. 

What you have: 

  • Minimum 2 years payroll experience required in an environment with 100+ employees.
  • College undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or business administration required.
  • Experience with ADP WORKFORCE required.
  • Intermediate skills in Excel required (pivot tables, vlookup, if-then formulas).
  • Overall knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IRS wage regulations required.
  • Ability to work independently, under tight deadlines at times, and in a professional manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible in nature, exceptional multi-tasker, and extraordinary attention to detail.
