Trupanion is a leading provider of medical insurance for cats and dogs in North America. Our mission is to help the pets we all love receive the veterinary care they need. At Trupanion, we offer a collaborative, casual, and pet-friendly environment where everyone is encouraged to be themselves.

Position Summary

Are you an eager problem-solver who possesses a genuine passion for finding creative technology solutions for communications challenges? As Trupanion expands and becomes more diversified in worksite locations (new geographies, in office, and at home), we need an internal communications framework that supports this growth and enables efficient, engaging, and accessible communication to, from, and between team members.

That’s why we’re looking to add a new member to our Corporate Communications team! We are looking for someone with the skills, inventiveness, and passion to help us improve our internal communications in ways that will “wow” team members.

Specific Responsibilities

This is a new role for the company, which means the successful candidate has a unique opportunity to influence what the role is and how it evolves. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Run our Sharepoint Online environment as well as tools used for chat, video conferencing, etc.
  • Lead the buildout of the company intranet on SharePoint Online and collaborate when it comes to architecture, web part recommendations, custom and “out of the box” integrations, governance, etc.
  • Serve as Corporate Communications’ liaison with the IT Service Desk and Development teams.
  • Drive process improvement by finding efficient and automated ways to run communications processes (project intake and tracking, content calendar, etc.) and programs.
  • Be the team’s analytics lead, including tracking and reporting for intranet, communication touchpoints & methodology, company meetings and similar.
  • Represent the Communications Team on technology projects with outside vendors.

Experience & Aptitudes

  • Have worked closely with or in a communications team in a previous role
  • Have a minimum of one year’s experience implementing and managing internal communications tools and platforms
  • Be skilled at talking tech. You don’t need to write scripts, build API’s, integrate third-party tools, manage servers, or the like; but you do need to know what those are and what to ask about and look for as we consider new communications tools and technologies.
  • Be proficient in building webpages/websites and leading site architecture in SharePoint Online
  • Be data-passionate and have experience with Google Analytics and similar platforms
  • Have experience crafting and being responsible for compliance with governance guidelines, SOP’s or similar
  • Prioritize being “in the know” on technology trends in the communications and employee engagement industries
  • Be enthusiastic about collaborating with diverse perspectives and backgrounds and a champion of the company’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion efforts.

Benefits and Perks:

  • Bonus opportunities
  • Full medical, dental, and vision benefits at no cost to the employee
  • Four weeks paid time off
  • Five-week sabbatical after five years of employment
  • Restricted Stock Units
  • Open, casual, pet-friendly, and fun office environment
  • Free dog walking services for office pets during business hours
  • Free medical health insurance for your pet (1 dog or cat)
  • Paid time off to volunteer at nonprofit organizations
  • Free on-site gym
