The opportunity:

We believe global trade can move the human race forward. That’s why it’s our mission to make global trade easy for everyone.

Flexport holds a special place in the competitive landscape for logistics and technology. People know we do things differently. And this year, during a once-in-a-lifetime supply chain crisis, they’re turning to Flexport more than ever to understand and navigate an already complex industry. We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Writer who’s passionate about creating meaningful and engaging content that puts our clients, prospects, partners and employees at the center.

You are a creative storyteller who knows how to amplify and further a brand’s point of view, while also driving business growth. You have a proven track record (and samples) of compelling copy for end-to-end digital campaigns including website copy, blog posts, e-books and other long-form content, marketing emails and newsletters. As part of the Content team, you’ll partner with colleagues in Brand, Marketing and Sales, as well as subject matter experts all over Flexport to turn complex insights and industry expertise into accessible, actionable and relatable content for our marketing channels.

If you thrive at fast-growth startups, have a high bar for editorial excellence, and love digging in with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts, this role is for you.

You will:

  • Apply your storytelling skills and digital proficiency to create best-in-class, measurable marketing content and collateral
  • Translate complex concepts into concise messaging and compelling stories tailored to different audiences
  • Find creative ways to communicate our value propositions to our target audiences
  • Drive audiences to take action within all aspects of our funnel strategy from brand awareness to purchase and advocacy
  • Measure the impact of our content strategy as well as the performance of individual assets and, as you learn, refine your approach
  • Own the distribution and promotion strategy for any content you create, in partnership with Marketing

You are:

  • An exceptional writer and editor, with a keen eye for clear, crisp copy. You know when to give your writing personality (and when not to)
  • Curious. You’re excited to learn about complex problems in a complex industry, and to tune that complexity to the frequency of your audience
  • A self-starter who jumps on opportunities when you see them
  • Strategic. You think across the full spectrum of channels available and use all available data to inform and evolve your approach
  • Highly-organized with a track record of effectively completing multiple projects on time
  • An expert collaborator, who can roll up your sleeves to drive projects, create timelines, collaborate with stakeholders, and deliver on message & on brand content.
  • Obsessed with the details and quality control. Sticklers welcome
  • A people person. You build relationships that lead to better stories

You should have:

  • A BA/BS or equivalent degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience writing B2B-focused marketing copy as a writer, product marketer, content marketer or journalist
  • A good understanding of digital marketing, SEO, inbound strategies, social media, personalization, etc.
  • The ability to adapt your writing style and paraphrase complex topics based on the channel and audience
  • Deep knowledge of grammar and style guides, and a perspective on when to bend the rules
  • Familiarity with customer-centric messaging, branding, user experience, and content promotion strategies
  • A diverse portfolio of work, including long-form and short-form marketing content samples
