Modus is continuing to grow our title and escrow footprint rapidly in Washington and Florida and we’re also a technology forward company where we are bringing the power of online tools to life to create transparent, easy-to-understand experiences for all parties involved in residential real estate closings. We’re also part of the Compass Community, with a strong mission to digitize a full end-to-end home buying and closing experience for anyone. If you would be excited to help us continue to rapidly scale our business with a sharp eye on compliance while we continue to transform an antiquated industry, we’d like to hear from you!

Your day-to-day:

  • Research and recommend best practices, process improvements, and inter-departmental procedural and document changes to address compliance and risk issues across the organization
  • Assist with process and procedures creation and implementation, partnering closely with regional and national title and escrow leadership
  • Partner closely with the Finance and Accounting teams to identify potential points of compliance failure and recommend actions to mitigate such risk
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team and culture within your department

What you bring:

  • Extensive knowledge of Title and Escrow laws, rules, and regulations, including ALTA and RESPA
  • Strong attention to detail: you are able to juggle, navigate and track multiple projects and priorities at once
  • A sense of urgency: you know when and how to escalate compliance concerns for appropriate and timely action
  • A sense of ownership and thoroughness: you proactively follow up on action items to ensure that no balls are dropped and that all critical milestones are met
  • A flexible, can-do attitude: you can and will pivot as needed, you are excited to try new ways of doing things, and you look forward to sharing ideas to help us refine our recipe for success
  • Your BUILDER mentality: you are excited about playing a role in building and growing a brand new company
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher is strongly preferred
  • At least 10 years of experience in Residential Title and Escrow, with at least 5 in a dedicated compliance management role

What’s in it for you:

As we continue our work to create the world’s most simple, modernized real estate experience available to everyone, we need more driven builders who want to innovate on an antiquated process.
