The Director of Logistics has the primary responsibility of supporting all of the day to day activity across the network of FLEXE warehouse providers and customers. The FLEXE model matches clients to warehouse providers through our technology platform and your team is responsible for supporting all aspects of these fulfillment operations. You will be a critical cross functional partner across Business Development, Account Management, Product & Tech, Solutions, Industrial Engineering, Billing and Analytics. Reporting to the Director of Operations and Implementations, you will lead and develop a diverse team of Logistics Analysts who are super users of the FLEXE WMS and support all aspects of the day to day across hundreds of warehouses.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and develop a team of 30+ team members (and growing), providing positive and critical feedback and coaching, helping create and manage team goals, and creating a great, inclusive team culture as well as involvement in recruiting and hiring.
  • Influence and design organizational support structures best suited to sustain aggressive year over year growth targets for both current and future revenue channels. 
  • Provide guidance and leadership on operational conversations related to warehousing and order fulfillment.
  • Experience building teams including, hiring, onboarding and training programs for a high growth company.
  • Operations Execution:
  • Partner with internal and external teams to ensure smooth onboarding and daily support of all FLEXE 3PL warehousing projects across multiple locations in the US and Canada.
  • Maintain tools and support model across the entire team to meet growth targets and improve customer experience. 
  • Create and monitor performance metrics and reports to ensure SLA’s are met and document any standard operating procedures as needed to ensure all parties are aware of required process.
  • Ensure team of Logistics Analysts can independently manage day to day communication with warehouse operators and clients across multiple sites and time zones.
  • Establish appropriate support structure to adapt to new levels of complexity, use cases and solutions. 
  • Establish communication standards and documentation for all new processes and requirements. 
  • Responsible for operational readiness of new warehouse to service a client, includes validating training plans, equipment plans, and logistics details.
  • Participate in QBR’s as needed with strategic clients and collaborate with commercial, tech and solution org on features needed to increase efficiency and growth with clients.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years Experience in 3PL / Contract Logistics operations management, and/or 3PL/warehousing solutions.
  • Management experience leading front line managers, with overall teams of 20+
  • Experience managing a national logistics network with multiple distribution centers & clients.
  • Skilled in process management, planning and change management
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying root causes of problems/issues and the ability to develop recommendations for resolution
  • Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships internally and externally (customers, suppliers, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse best practices for fulfillment, appropriate metrics and process improvements. 
  • Experience in a customer-facing role with demonstrated experience gathering and understanding customer business requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Must be authorized to work in the US. We will not be sponsoring visas for this role at this time.
