The Director of Strategic Programs (“DSP”)is an extension of the office of the CEO, with a primary objective to provide the CEO, Chief of staff, and executive team with leverage to improve executive team execution. The DSP role is much akin to a Chief of Staff. Improved execution is achieved by the DSP by:

2) Ensuring accountability of Executive Team deliverables

3) Providing planning and analytical support, consulting, and implementation leadership, and coordinating the efforts of the Executive Team

The DSP receives direction from the CEO and ensures execution of the same. He or she meets regularly with Executive leaders and provides direction and receives progress updates, which are aggregated and presented in Executive Team and Board meetings.

The DSP works behind the scenes to solve problems, mediate disputes, and deal with issues before they are brought to the CEO. He or she identifies and addresses gaps in company and Executive Team execution before they become internal or external problems. The DSP is a confidante and advisor to the CEO, acting as a sounding board for ideas and collaborating on communication, goal-setting, and other cross-functional corporate initiatives that support future growth. The DSP helps coordinate and direct communication for the CEO by filtering only the most essential communication and working closely with the CEO’s Executive Assistant to plan and control the CEO’s meeting schedule.
