IT Systems Administrator
About the Role:
The Systems Administrator supports end users, identifies and resolves problems, installs hardware and software solutions, and supports the Helpdesk function. The SA maintains infrastructure such as: Active Directory, Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, IP management, firewalls, remote access, email, file storage, network management, VLANs, wireless, phone system, and infrastructure security.
Other duties include administration and internal support of PCs, printers, servers, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support, software license tracking, inventory management, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations, and project management.
As part of this growing company, you will be a key participant in creating and improving processes throughout all IT functions and also be included with 24/7 on-call availability.
What You'll be Doing:
- Provide rapid and effective Helpdesk and end-user support via the IT Ticketing system
- Assist with on/off-boarding of users, including training as necessary
- Maintain inventory of all equipment, software, configurations and software licenses, including identifying equipment shortages and placing new orders
- Manage asset deployments and upgrades using standard hardware, images and software utilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, including cleaning and minor repairs, and maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and a maintenance schedule
- Manage access controls and user accounts
- Maintain backups, offsite data storage, and disaster recovery planning/execution
- Take part in IT On-Call rotation
About You:
- Experience in large-scale technology implementations identifying resources required, timeline, implementation, post-implementation, and on-going support activities
- Minimum of 2 years in similar Systems Administrator or consulting role
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
- Microsoft certification and/or equivalent experience preferred
- Cisco certifications and/or equivalent experience preferred
- AWS certification and/or equivalent experience preferred
- Security related certifications or experience preferred
- Expert knowledge in Active Directory, Exchange/Office 365, DNS, DHCP, Windows and MacOS
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills with server, network management, and infrastructure systems
- Working knowledge of firewalls, security, anti-virus, intrusion detection, and security related systems
- Intermediate skills in disaster planning, backup, and cloud services
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision, meeting deadlines and commitments
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in a dynamic environment
