The primary objective for Uber Engineering Security team is to enable the technical ambitions of the company while maintaining the highest standards of security and privacy for our customers and partners. About the Role
The Engineering Security team works to ensure the security of information for our full set of users - riders, eaters, drivers and customers. The aim is to ensure that every experience with Uber is simple, secure, and safe.
We are seeking a manager with experience leading security compliance programs in high growth technology environments, to join our Security Assurance function within Engineering Security.
What You'll Do

  • Manage and grow security compliance team in line with org and business needs
  • Lead security certification and audit efforts (e.g. ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 2)
  • Lead Uber's Customer Trust team. Partner with sales/business teams to cultivate trust with customers around Uber's security and privacy programs
  • Strategize security compliance efforts that Uber needs to take up to meet changing needs of the business
  • Provide mentorship to business/product teams on security compliance requirements
  • Develop security KPI/metrics to track compliance programs maturity and performance
  • Develop strategic plans and long-term roadmaps for the security compliance function

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of security experience in relevant domains (e.g. compliance, audit, security risk management)
  • 3+ years as an experienced people manager
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Systems required.
  • Prior experience of leading organizations through security certifications and audits (e.g. ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 2)
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern cloud security challenges and controls
  • Deep understanding of security techniques, practices, and controls that can be applied to address risks.
  • Effective in building relationships with organizational leaders and influencing senior management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading security compliance teams at a leading technology company
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, etc.
  • Experience with GRC tools (e.g. ServiceNow GRC, SAP GRC, Auditboard)
  • Experience with Fedramp or HITRUST

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $198,000 per year - $220,000 per year.For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $198,000 per year - $220,000 per year.For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $198,000 per year - $220,000 per year.For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
