Blue Nile is looking for a dynamic Operations Planner to join our Planning team. This position will be responsible for overall management of purchase orders to our Fulfillment centers and/or customers. As a key member of the Planning team, the Operations Planner will be comfortable building cross-functional relationships across the organization, will pro-actively work with their vendor base, Merchandising and other partners to identify areas of opportunity, participate and drive vendor performance improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Effective at communicating insights from data analysis and influencing change
• Own the PO process from end-to-end – execute buys using MRP
• PO maintenance, Backorder and Inventory management
• Own vendor on-time report and other performance metrics, which will be used as part of the vendor evaluation and Sourcing category strategies
• Track, analyze, and report on supply chain KPIs, including: on-time-in-full for inbound purchase orders; vendor lead-times; quality assurance metrics and RTV’s
• Vendor Capacity planning and supply chain risk mitigation strategies
• Serves as subject matter expert for vendor iSupplier tool
• Support the planning team in maintaining a healthy inventory
• Contributes to the management of content and balance of the department's inventory through an understanding of product and customer needs
• Drives Vendor performance management & improvement; identifies performance opportunities, pulls qualitative analysis and formulates recommendations to merchandising and sourcing partners and vendors to drive improvement
• Partners with Accounts Payable (AP) and Fulfillment Center (FC) Operations to proactively develop solutions to reduce discrepancies and drive efficiencies
• Participate in business reviews to develop greater understanding of how specific actions impact overall department results
• Strong attention to detail, along with organization and time management skills
• Ability to build and foster productive working relationships with cross-functional teams
• Self-starter who desires to discover trends and find actionable information
• Ability to take initiative and act independently

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in business, purchasing, merchandising, supply chain management, finance or related field
• 3+ years of experience within operations, supply chain or inventory management
• Able to present, negotiate and analyze data
• Self-starter; takes initiative to address and solve issues / problems
• Able to resolve complex problems independently. High attention to detail
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and able to build and effective cross-functional relationships
• Excellent multi-tasking ability and organization
• Experience with Oracle EBS, Tableau and JIRA or similar reporting and operations systems
• Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
