About the Role: 

The Professional Development Manager is a leader on the Customer Experience team, serving as both a manger for the Professional Development Specialists in his or her region while also occasionally serving as an individual contributor delivering professional development to educators. The Professional Development Manager will oversee the delivery of the services in their region and ensure consistency and quality of the training provided by the team to educators. The ideal candidate will demonstrate both the drive and ability to work independently, the ability to support the work of others in the region, as well as the ability to partner with the other Regional Managers and Customer Experience leaders on departmental initiatives. The PD Manager will be responsible for hiring and onboarding new team members as well as performance coaching and reviews. Professional Development partners closely with DreamBox Sales Representatives during pre-sale and drives customer success through the post-sales experience.

This position reports to the Sr. Director of Professional Development.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading a small team of Professional Development Specialists in a region.
  • Collaborating with leadership to assess forecasting and territorial decisions around staffing and hiring.
  • Attracting and hiring A players.
  • Coordinating the onboarding of new PD Specialists in your region.
  • Observing and coaching team members to ensure quality PD delivery.
  • Overseeing the delivery of all PD services in the region.
  • Collaborating with the other Regional PD Managers to define and implement internal professional development team processes.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional DreamBox leaders and colleagues to support program implementation and to improve the new client onboarding experience.
  • Coordinating with school and/or district stake holders to ensure the delivery of services in a timely manner.
  • Delivering effective presentations to large and small audiences in varying mediums in an energetic and effective format.
  • Providing client-facing professional development.
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on educator training materials.
  • Monitoring and evaluating implementation success in the region.
  • Developing client PD plans in pre and post-sale.
  • Understanding clients' needs and concerns and be able to respond promptly and effectively.
  • Using Salesforce to manage and track service delivery.
  • Travel up to 40%, possibly more during July – November.

About You:

  • Bachelors degree required; Master’s Degree in an Education related field preferred
  • 4+ years of experience working in K-12 classrooms
  • 2+ years of experience working in educational professional development environment; consulting or training experience a plus
  • Experience managing teams and working remotely
  • Demonstrated success working in a cross-functional environment with leaders from technology, K-12 education, project managers, product managers, Marketing and Sales
  • Demonstrated success working with clients to reach their desired goals
  • Ability to analyze and comprehend requirements and explain complex concepts in layman's language
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Organized and able to multi-task projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Able to build partnerships for learning and knowledge sharing
