The Challenge

Are you an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) professional with a passion for video games an eye for detail and flexibility to adapt to changing requirements? Do you lead by example and love to work collaboratively with other disciplines to solve complex problems? If you said ‘yes’ this might be the role for you!

As a QA Manager you will champion the quality of our games and the experiences of our players, support the productivity and management of your team, and maintain and improve the efficiency of our processes. A successful leader in this role can easily build relationships across the organization and ensures the team can respond quickly and proactively to customers’ needs.

What You’ll Take On

  • Define a cohesive quality strategy encompassing coverage, staffing and metrics by collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout all phases of development including post-ship.
  • Actively manage and develop the QA team by way of tactical leadership, proactive mentorship, and individualized career pathing.
  • Identify improvement and innovation opportunities in existing quality approaches and provide recommendations for new ones where they are needed and impactful.
  • Partner with the engineering team to build tools and automation strategies that make us a more effective development team.
  • Coordinate with cross-discipline peers to ensure our processes and team members work collaboratively and are well-integrated.
  • Actively participate in recruitment and onboarding process to support studio growth objectives.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of professional QA experience.
  • 4+ years of people management experience.
  • Expert understanding of game development cycles and Agile Scrum methodologies
  • Excellent communicator who practices active listening, possess an empathetic approach to direct conversations, and provides constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing team-wide processes, technology, and tools that make development more efficient.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of multiple testing types, including verification and validation testing, usability testing, security testing, performance testing, etc.
  • Passion for collecting and utilizing data to better inform our test and closing strategies.

The pay range for this position in Washington at the start of employment is expected to be between $70,000 and $105,000 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.  Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees will also receive 14 paid holidays per calendar year, are eligible to earn a minimum of 15 days of vacation leave per year (subject to proration based on start date during the calendar year) and will receive 10 sick days per calendar year. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
