Senior Manager, Merchandising Operations Excellence
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Senior Manager, Merchandising Operational Excellence to join our Vendor Experience & Merchandising Systems and Services Team. In this role, you will be directly responsible for delivering scalable process improvement that are driven through deep data insights. You will be conducting the data analysis, building out the lean process improvement cases, and leading the implementation of the process improvements. The right candidate will have strong business acumen and be able to develop business insights and recommendations from process out data. You will partner directly with analysts, business cross functional managers and ADs, data engineers, and corporate IT teams to anticipate the data infrastructure needs of the organization, process improvement design and implementation, and proactively build solutions that fuel data-driven insights.
The ideal candidate has proven experience in operational excellence, exemplary data analysis & visualization skills, and strong business acumen. He/She excels at developing and delivering product roadmaps with proven experience exceeding customer expectations. This individual is highly proficient in cross-functional program management and has proven experience delivering high quality results with minimal direction from leadership. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required as this role will interface directly with cross-functional teams to gain buy in and roll out of new processes, by communicating the process improvement business case.
What You'll Do:
- Assess existing process flows and lead simplification using automation and process re-engineering.
- Provide thoughtful business insights through deep data analysis on process outputs.
- Proactively assess the data needs of Merchandising and related functions and partner with data engineering teams to prioritize and QA development of new data tables, metrics, and products
- Lead efforts to automate data extraction and sending of files to multiple stakeholders
- Partner directly with Merchandising, Business Intelligence, Product Engineering, Supply Chain and Finance teams to evaluate new processes and integrate new tools and technology
- Own continuous improvement goals on key vendor facing processes
- Construct and deliver product roadmaps that deliver insightful and user-friendly dashboards for both internal and external customers
- Partner with IT teams to construct downstream impact analysis and own change management for process improvements.
What You'll Need:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics or a related degree with analytics and quantitative and technical emphasis; MBA or Masters in Analytics preferred
- Proven experience leading operational excellence through data driven lean process improvements
- Demonstratable experience in building data visualizations and translating complex data into actionable insights
- Minimum 6 years of lean process improvement, and data driven automation of processes preferably in an ecommerce or retail setting
- Strong leadership skills with minimum of 2 years managing people
- Superior attention to detail and experience building processes to validate data integrity
- Exemplary stakeholder management and prioritization skills using systems, processes, and scalable frameworks
- Strong SQL and familiarity with cloud-based data storage and extraction processes
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills using data to recommend and drive actions
- Thorough understanding of Financial KPIs and P&L statement
- Proven experience leading teams and delivering results in ambiguous and resource constrained environments
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
