About the Role

The Senior Windows Administrator is a dynamic role with a high emphasis on being self-motivated to solve the task at hand. There is no ‘typical day’ on the Office IT Administration team as new challenges are presented daily. You will ensure that good decisions are being made and procedures are being followed. Where gaps are found in the process or infrastructure, you will take ownership to resolve them. When services are interrupted, you will be responsive and restore functionality in a timely and efficient manner.

 

You will work closely with coworkers in other offices and time zones on the continually evolving mission to achieve zero downtime of services hosted by Operations. The team is continuously innovating new approaches to improve efficiency, automate repetitive work and reduce manual tasks.

What You'll Be Doing

You will be responsible for handling all of the Windows Server administration, managing our day-to-day responsibilities for the OpenMarket Office365 tenant, working on integration projects, providing solutions for our OpenMarket employees that require interfacing with any of our Microsoft provided services, ensuring the security of our Windows servers, and providing architectural direction for our Microsoft servers/services.

What to Bring

  • 8+ years of experience with Active Directory in an administrative/architectural role
  • 8+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server
    • solid understanding of core Windows Networking and Services
    • supporting of Windows Server in a large corporate environment
    • creating PowerShell scripts to solve complex issues
  • 8+ years of experience writing clear and concise documentation of your work
    • technical documentation
    • ticket documentation
    • documenting technical solutions, including technical diagrams
  • Ability to handle 3rd level escalations from IT Support staff, when necessary
    • Windows 10
    • macOS
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies and principals
    • VMware
    • HyperV
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

  • 3 years of experience with Office365 in an administrative/architectural role
  • 3 years of experience with Azure AD and other Microsoft Cloud services
  • Strong knowledge of Windows security implications in a large corporate environment
  • Ability to mentor others, both within your team and external to your team
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience required.
