System1 is looking for a product manager for our data engineering team. We are a fast-growing and profitable company looking to scale our internal technology to keep pace with the business. The ideal person is highly motivated, accustomed to a fast-paced environment, and has a strong understanding of evolving business needs. This role will report directly to the Senior Director of Product Management and will help to build out a strong, goal-oriented, agile development team.

The Role You Will Have

  • Work with stakeholders to understand business needs, prioritize projects, and define clear requirements for the Data Engineering team
  • Be the first point of contact to troubleshoot and communicate any data issues to the business
  • Day-to-day project management for the Data Engineering team
  • Ensure product is developed to meet business goals and customer needs
  • Own the definition, tracking, and reporting on KPIs for all products
  • Responsible for execution and delivery on stated milestones

What You Will Bring

  • Demonstrated product experience in data warehousing, ETL, or other data focused environments
  • Advanced SQL skills and familiarity with big data technologies and the data infrastructure ecosystem 
  • Understanding of the technical architecture of data pipelines, warehousing, and data management systems
  • Engineering or computer science education and/or relevant technical background
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Must be comfortable managing multiple projects, teams, and priorities

He was able to balance his work at System1 with assignments and studying, and now, he’s implementing what he learned on the job. Currently, he and the data science team are working on an algorithm to optimize System1’s advertising on a new network. Their custom-built machine learning infrastructure makes it easy to deploy new algorithms and track performance.
