An Insider's view of Intercept Games

What’s the vibe like in the office?

The office is open and collaborative. We're unafraid to speak up and contribute our diverse skills and knowledge, and our maturity allows us to approach disagreements respectfully and always in the lens of making the best games for our players. Company meetings are electric: we love showing off what we're doing and celebrating the team's successes.

Shana

Lead Designer

What kinds of technical challenges do you and your team face?

It's no secret that space is absolutely enormous, and with that size comes the constant challenge of scale. Nearly every feature in KSP2 is either directly or indirectly affected by this large scale, and our engineering team is always thinking about different solutions to these problems that are often trivial in other games.

Mark

Senior Engineer

What are some things you learned at the company?

I've really expanded my interaction design skills in addition to taking on the daunting challenge of learning the astrophysics content that serves as the foundation of KSP2 gameplay. Most of all, I've learned "Kerbalness" which is the quality of persistence (during possibly doomed missions).

Jennie

UI Designer

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

Work-life balance for me has been excellent. I think we've found, out of necessity, how much we can accomplish when we allow people to work in the places they need to be, at the times that work best for their family or personal needs. I think it’s changed the way we operate for the better because it gives people the freedom to do their best work.
