Primary Responsibilities
Product Operations is responsible for bringing operational strategy and process to both monetized and non-monetized product launches and ensuring that new features and products are ready for scaled release. The role will be the lead and Subject Matter Expert of the F5/NGINX product lifecycle management (PLM) framework and use this knowledge to train new PM’s. This includes internal alignment with the sales and support enablement teams. Product operations will advocate for the team goals while balancing the needs of their cross-functional partners in product marketing, product management, technology services, legal and operational teams. This role will supply the data and analysis needed to make key product investment decisions, as well as review the quarterly performance of each product line.
Communication and Collaboration
Bridge communication gaps between product/strategic teams to ensure company alignment
Advocate for the team's efforts and communicate regularly to keep necessary partners informed
Document and build internal resources for cross-functional groups about ongoing products to enable transparency and collaboration
Communication and status reporting for extended partners/execs
Proactively create alliances across F5 cross-functional teams to further collaboration and promote NGINX products and goals
Product Lifecycle Management
Advise on end-to-end product rollout plan and project-manage implementation
Facilitating PLM planning and execution events as requested or needed
Leading and coaching the organization in its PLM planning and execution adoption
Planning PLM planning and execution implementations within the organization
Helping employees and partners understand and enact PLM planning and offer development
Causing change that increases the productivity of the PM within the PLM process,
Working with other E-NPI Program Managers to increase the effectiveness of the application of PLM planning and execution in the organization
Communication and status reporting for extended partners and executives
Product Operations and Analysis
Use data to provide insights to product development team pre and post launch of new features
Develop and maintain, reports and dashboards in Salesforce.com
Use Tableau to pull data and report to PM team
Work with other groups that are procuring market insights and present to PM
“Deep-dive” data projects as needed to glean information about product buying personas, time to close, churn rate etc.
Explain to PM team what the data means and why it is important
Answer “Ad-Hoc” information requests from cross-functional groups
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
A deep sense of ownership and responsibility about everything that you work on. You are comfortable running a process end-to-end with a high degree of autonomy
Proven program and project management skills, as well as experience running cross-functional efforts
Strong team orientation with the ability to listen, organize, and champion key initiatives and projects.
Flexible, self-motivated, a standout teammate, and able to work independently and lead others on projects
Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated history of clean, concise written and verbal updates
Willing to travel up to 20% of the time to be present in both San Francisco and Seattle offices
Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of direct or related experience in program management
Experience working with a geo-dispersed team
