About Brokerage Operations

Brokerage Operations is critical to Convoy's success. The Brokerage Ops team is the bridge between the old way of connecting shippers to carriers (buy low, sell high), and the new way (instantly matching the right truck for each shipment). Brokerage Ops is one of the teams that truly manages both sides of the marketplace at Convoy. We ensure that the freight we take is healthy for marketplace building and then make sure we find the best truck for the job as quickly as possible. They have the ability to sell freight quickly and negotiate effectively, simultaneously introducing the technology that will help trucking companies streamline & scale their business. The team comprises of people from diverse backgrounds and ways of thinking. We've had great people join us from logistics backgrounds, as well as marketing, tech sales, retail, customer service, operations, and plenty of others. We hire people who fit the attributes and values that we hold in high regard such as outcome orientation, hustle, humility, and great communication.  We value each and every employee, and are excited to say we have a team that is proud to work for Convoy. About Strategic Operations

As Convoy’s business continues to grow, the needs of our shippers and carriers are becoming increasingly complex...and exciting. The Strategic Operations Team, sitting within the carrier-facing Supply Organization, is the dynamic and tactical unit responsible for exploring and operationalizing new and complex logistics problem-spaces that Convoy is looking to enter. Scrappy execution, on-the-fly analysis and expert level problem-solving are ingrained in our DNA, and cross-functional collaborative environments are where we excel.

About You:

You thrive in collaborative, solutions-driven environments where your communication and problem-solving skills shine. You are motivated by challenges and see obstacles, both internal and external, as opportunities rather than blockers. When attacking a new problem space, you are comfortable making on-the-fly decisions, providing feedback and insights to stakeholders, and leave a trail of documentation and process improvement in your wake. Able to seamlessly shift back and forth between data-driven decision-making and ‘do-whatever-it-takes’ scrappiness, without losing sight of efficiency and automation as the end goal. You hate the idea of merely being a passenger along for the ride, and are eager to make an impact as we launch new business units (geographic regions, modes of transportation, load matching tactics etc.) and take Convoy places it has never been before!

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience in logistics, operations, customer service, sales, data analysis or in client facing role
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment, taking initiative to strategically resolve issues and find efficiencies 
• A positive and proactive attitude who is eager to contribute to team and company growth
• Passionate about improving processes through critical thinking and team collaboration, along with a strong desire to make an impact on the freight industry
• Ability to communicate, negotiate, and maintain relationships with external clients - carriers, shippers, partners etc.
• Strong written and cross-functional communication skills
• Ability to work with stakeholders across many orgs and functions including Product, Finance, Sales, Operations, Quality & Compliance et.al.
• Strong analytical skills and comfortable using data via Excel, SQL etc.
