Supply Chain Manager - Starlink (Electromechanical) - Redmond, WA

Responsibilities:

  • Lead commodity strategy of electronic mechanical systems with focus on PCBAs, integration of electronic and mechanical parts, functional testing with comprehensive quality assurance plans
  • Manage and develop a team of Buyers and Material Planners
  • Evaluate, assess, develop, and manage the supply base to enable quick prototype deployment and introduction to scalable production for electro-mechanical systems
  • Develop overall supplier negotiation and engagement strategies
  • Administer contracts; independently negotiate contracts including pricing, technical requirements, scope, and terms involving responsibility, liability, indemnification, and intellectual property
  • Mitigate risk and ensure continuity of supply
  • Manage relationships with external manufacturer and distribution partners
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams on sourcing strategy, market analysis, trade-off analysis reviews, and supplier roadmaps with engineers to support cost, quality, and delivery targets
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on requests for information, request for proposal, and request for quotation
  • Issue purchase orders, ensure timely delivery of purchase orders, and resolve invoice issues
  • Execute MRP Planning messages for production parts
  • Monitor and manage costs to ensure adherence to project-specific budgets and forecasts
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and government regulations
  • Proactively update SpaceX management and engineering teams on all critical supply issues
  • Analyze procurement data and report metrics

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or similar technical discipline
  • 7+ years of procurement or supplier management experience
  • Experience in electro-mechanical systems procurement
  • Experience with electronic manufacturing services (EMS), or contract manufacturers (CM)

 Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing and assembly processes, foreign and domestic supply base, capabilities, and PCBA level commodity experience
  • Technical procurement, new product introduction, manufacturing, or design / development experience
  • Experience with drawings, bill of materials, and gerber files
  • Experience with manufacturer product portfolio, and electronic raw materials
  • Training and team building skills
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge and skills in current technologies and applications, ie. MS Office Suite
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
  • Conducts all activities with the highest of integrity

 Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel and communicate outside of normal work hours
