Blue Nile is looking for a passionate and talented Associate International Buyer who will manage our international product categories under the leadership of our Sr Buyer.  The Associate International Buyer will play a critical role in product creation, assortment management, vendor negotiations, product merchandising and assistant category manager development. 

Responsibilities:

• Drive maximum sales and margin in product categories through development of product assortment, price negotiations, online presentations and promotions
• Collaborate with planning and pricing partners to monitor, evaluate and analyze business results and product performance to drive sales and profitability
• Collaborate with planning and pricing partners to ensure category results meet or exceed inventory and turn goals
• Have a thorough understanding of the industry, seasonality and global trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments
• Assist with managing category retail pricing strategy in collaboration with the internal pricing team, monitoring competitive trends and promotions
• Keep up-to-date on style and product trends within and outside of Blue Nile’s product mix, as well as manage competitive positioning of product categories to cement Blue Nile’s leadership position in the industry
• Support Customer Care team to ensure positive customer experiences and outcomes
• Collaborate with the procurement team to drive development of and select merchandise consistent with the Blue Nile brand and target market
• Partner with the site team to ensure optimum product placement and discoverability
• Support execution of seasonal development calendar to ensure deadlines are met

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in business, purchasing, merchandising, supply chain management, finance or related field
• 3+ years of progressive work experience in buying, merchandising or planning
• High level of analytical skills and a strong understanding of merchandising KIP’s
• High attention to detail
• Proven ability to lead teams in multi-faceted working environments
• Experience in presenting strategies and ideas to executive teams
• Strong product sensibility and experience with design and product development
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills; project management experience desired
• Highly self-motivated with ability to carry out directives in a fast-paced, multiple-priority environment
• Ability to independently carry out responsibilities and exercise appropriate judgment
• Great team player and a dynamic collaborator cross-functionally and with merchandise team members
• Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office
