Job Description
The Director of Strategy and Corporate Development is responsible for collaborating with the senior and executive leaders of Accolade to help develop our corporate strategy and support the execution of strategic partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions. A key focus of this role will be managing potential partner and acquisition processes, ensuring these efforts are aligned with the overarching corporate strategy and executed effectively.
A day in the life…
- Lead complex corporate development initiatives and relationship management efforts for potential partners/acquisitions:
o Report on emerging market trends
o Research potential targets and conduct in-depth company evaluations to uncover risks and opportunities
o Provide target and competitive landscape deep dives for partners/acquisitions and recommend actions
o Develop, lead, and gain buy-in for corporate development strategies through presentations and recommendations, enabling the executive team to make critical go/no go decisions
- Develop company specific financial, valuation, and synergy models.
- Manage internal M&A database and process documents.
- Develop and regularly update internal comparative valuation models.
- Conduct industry specific research and report out to senior executive team about market trends and growth opportunities for Accolade.
- Act as a strategic “internal consultant,” providing guidance and project leadership on critical cross-functional initiatives.
- Investor relations projects as required.
Qualifications
What we are looking for…
- MBA preferred with 8-10 years progressive business experience
- Strategic planning, consulting, or investment banking experience in the healthcare technology or services sectors preferred
- Strong personal presence and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, inquisitive, problem-solving in nature
- Highly entrepreneurial, self-starter, and action-oriented
- Hands-on in defining objectives and producing deliverables in a fast-paced environment
- A team player capable of working effectively with others on the senior management team as well as individuals throughout the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to communicate with individuals at various levels within the organization and with external stakeholders
- Mastery of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
