What we are looking for in a Sales Coordinator
You are a successful, passionate business development professional with a penchant for creative yet efficient processes and practices that lead to a comprehensive understanding of an addressable market and its opportunities, as well as bolster pre-sale activities and drive revenue by supporting a sales team in an fast-moving environment. Though you have a solid understanding for the entire sales cycle, from cold call prospecting to follow-up and account management, you particularly excel at needs analysis and establishing relationships. As a sales team member, you have an undeniable sense of ownership and you are often looking to improve existing processes to help reach and exceed team goals. You tend to be more organized than others and have experience using Salesforce or other comparable CRM software. You are motivated to solve problems and remove obstacles, not just getting around them. Cold calling may have intimidating before, but is now your bread and butter, and to boot, people LOVE you on the phone.
What we are looking for in this role

As the Sales Coordinator, reporting to the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for a myriad of business development, client support, and sales enablement tasks to generate leads and identify valuable or otherwise strategic sales and partnership opportunities, as well as protect existing booked business and recurring revenue. Although the Sales Coordinator duties will include tasks that help maintain our book of business, they will be more focused on identifying sales opportunities and establishing lines of communication between Leafly and private retail cannabis stores that legally sell cannabis and cannabis related products to consumers. This is a fast-paced work environment; the ability to work quickly and independently under pressure is essential. Here are some of your day to day responsibilities:

  • Research and stay up-to-date on target markets, including but not limited to: licensing statuses, retailer advertising restrictions and regulations, competitive landscape, market share leading vendors and retailers
  • Conduct high volume prospecting as well as qualify inbound leads with needs assessment calls to develop a pipeline of pre-qualified opportunities for sales representatives
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the account executive team to develop and implement appropriate prospect communication plans
  • Ensure Leafly profile listing creation of all operational, properly licensed dispensaries and retail stores
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information, including but not limited to: media kits and pricing, service offerings, promotional rates and incentive programs, brand affinity
  • Recommend improvements or otherwise changes in Leafly products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments, as well as client feedback collected in an organized and actionable manner
  • Maintain strong relationships externally with current clients and internally with sales and marketing teams
  • Protect recurring revenue by supporting the Account Manager and Revenue teams with aging revenue reporting analysis, championing reactive and proactive payment collection activities and outbound communication to due accounts
  • Uphold standard practices of data entry within Salesforce CRM, Leafly, and other platforms to ensure data integrity; may include defined adhoc “clean up” projects and tasks

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a sales, business development, or sales support role
  • Previous sales experience in which you demonstrated the ability to meet or exceed sales quotas
  • Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in business-related program, preferred
  • Passionate, energetic and highly motivated, with previously developed strong lead generation abilities
  • Ability to be a self-starter and create independence while providing outcomes; strategically approach the business
  • Excellent and demonstrated written and verbal communications skills
  • Knowledgeable about Leafly and cannabis industry as a whole
  • Desire to become a part of a fun and dynamic team and company that is a leader in a rapidly growing and developing industry
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a commitment to execution of task; solution oriented
  • Computer literate with Salesforce CRM, Mac systems, Google and other digital marketing systems and social media networks
  • Experience within a professional work environment and demonstrated ability to maintain poise
  • Demonstrated success working across different teams or departments
