About the Position

Our Sales Development Rep (SDR) Manager will lead Qumulo’s Sales Development team out of the Seattle office and act as the senior sales development leader at this location as we grow. This position requires a self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and proactively, while applying a high level of business and technical acumen to a variety of situations. 

The Manager, Sales Development will be responsible for leading a team of Sales Development Reps. While in charge of the SDR’s you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding a demand generation quota and will report directly to the Head of Inside Sales. Qumulo’s SDR’s will own the coordinated process of developing a qualified pipeline in Qumulo’s addressable target market. This is accomplished by setting meetings with target contacts that result from running proactive multi-touch sequences into target accounts. These contact touch sequences make it possible to deliver relevant solutions and use case specific content that effectively generates the pipeline that fuels Qumulo’s revenue engine.

This position requires leading a team engaged in heavy outbound phone calling, strategic email composition, active listening skills, consultative selling skills and tight collaboration with Field Sales partners to generate new clients and maintain the existing customer base. The SDR team will be expected to be data driven, able to self-manage their pipeline and report on touch activity, and stay thoroughly informed on all products and the data Enterprise Data Storage industry in general. They must have the maturity, confidence, and willingness, to roll up their sleeves and work in close partnership with Field Sales, Marketing and various other departments.

This role will report directly to the Head of Inside Sales based in Seattle

Responsibilities:

  • Build, manage and drive a team of high caliber sales development professionals
  • Hire, train and maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates
  • Motivate and empower  sales development professionals to drive pipeline development and achieve their sales and revenue goals
  • Work directly with the Head of Inside Sales and Area VPs on territory account planning, revenue generation and quota attainment.
  • Work with Qumulo’s marketing team to build and implement campaigns focused at various target market segments
  • Provide accurate weekly forecasts and track sales activity leveraging SFDC
  • Meet and exceed meeting targets for the identified market segment
  • Oversee the teams prospecting activities, including Account, Contact and Lead management.
  • Drive the team to meet or exceed lead/meeting quota through email/phone/social based prospecting & qualification.
  • Develop and execute on a strong prospecting plan of attack, including email/call scripts, audience segmentation and approach.
  • Train the team to deliver sales presentations when necessary.
  • Track all relevant activity using SalesForce.com (including prospect touches (emails, calls, social outreach) prospect pipeline, Account/Contact/Lead/Opportunity details, etc.)
  • Collaborate successfully with Field Sales and Marketing to optimize team-selling productivity.
  • Attend regional events and travel to as needed.

Required Competencies/Skills:

  • 5+ years sales experience and 2+ years management experience in enterprise technology sales
  • Proven goal achievement through leadership and motivation of an Inside sales team
  • Experience hiring, developing and retaining talent
  • Exceptional command of enterprise sales methodologies and the ability to coach to them
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build cross-functional relationships.
  • Knowledge of sales tools; SFDC, Clari, ZoomInfo, Outreach.io
