The Role

Do you have a passion for SaaS and cloud security? Do you enjoy partnering with Sales and other customer-facing teams to support basic and custom security requests? Do you enjoy talking to customers about security? Then you are who we need!

Outreach is looking for a Security Sales Program Manager (SSP) to partner with our Sales and Customer Success tams. You will be responsible for maturing and managing Outreach’s pre-sales security programs and associated tooling. The SSP will work alongside the Regional Sales managers, as part of the Security & Compliance Team and will oversee the sales support of Outreach’s products. The SSP is an integral part of the sales process and assists the sales team with pre-sales technical knowledge and presentations. The SSP works closely with Solutions Consultants, Account Executives, Regional Sales VP’s, prospects and partners as a subject-matter technical expert. You will be responsible for demonstrating how Outreach’s existing and proposed security solutions meet and exceed customer requirements for protecting their data.

An understanding of cloud security across policy, application and infrastructure security protection mechanisms and practices will be necessary to answer to some of the more in-depth questions coming from our prospective and existing customers. Qualified candidates will have a background in security or systems engineering including a working knowledge of encryption, AWS and coding security best practices, threat modeling and security monitoring tools.

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • Your first duty - gain a thorough understanding of Outreach’s security programs and posture across our production environment and primary product offering
  • Supporting sales team on prospect conference calls, video conferencing and onsite visits by providing product demonstrations expertly responding to technical questions, and explaining features in the context of solving customer’s business problems
  • Leading technical response to RFPs and RFIs by writing clear responses to commonly asked questions and gathering answers from other internal Outreach technical experts
  • Possessing demonstrable skills in customer-centric selling and a proven track record using it to help drive revenue
  • Participating as a technical resource at all relevant customer meetings, seminars and events
  • Ability to work independently with little guidance and as a vital member of a security team, providing any/all technical product expertise in explaining and/or capturing the appropriate requirements and solutions for the prospect
  • Working with the sales team to develop and execute key account development plans
  • Supporting partner teams by participating in technical calls and meetings with prospective partners evaluating Outreach
  • Ensuring successful on-site or over the phone product evaluations
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of product may be required

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience as a pre-sale engineer facing customers; Experience working with Enterprise Security solutions, policies and practices. SaaS security experience is essential
  • Solid understanding of web applications, web protocols, proxies, security and Internet environments
  • Basic knowledge of web threats and cybercrime
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Excellent written, oral communication and strong interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills
  • 3-5 years of proven work experience as a security analyst or pre-sales engineer
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
  • Proven success in customer-facing security roles is critical Experience configuring or auditing security systems within AWS including network technologies and monitoring tools
  • Expertise in web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
  • Experience managing projects in Jira preferred
  • Experience with RFP tools like RFPIO and Loopio a plus
  • Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, endpoint detection and response, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc is a plus
