The Role

As VP Sales Strategy & Execution you will take on an unusually wide range of responsibilities to support the Chief Revenue Officer. You will help manage the organization through three primary functions: 1) Develop and manage the Go to Market strategy & planning process, 2) work with sales operations and finance to build an operating plan across sales, marketing, & success to align with the bookings and expense objectives as outlined in the company’s annual operating plan, 3) and develop and help to implement the operating cadences, key performance indicators, and processes to meet the objectives outlined in the plan. This means you will be responsible for supporting and improving the CRO and his team’s effectiveness through planning, prioritization, and coordination, and execution of action items. You will also serve as a critical partner for senior leaders - defining and managing the cadence of business as well as coordinating and connecting teams and work streams to ensure the business is moving quickly and in the right direction. You will serve as a program manager for strategic projects, working with a vast array of stakeholders on both the strategic vision and project execution.

This role requires a highly resourceful, sharp, organized, professional, self-driven individual with the ability to partner, execute, and lead through influence, analytical reasoning, and optimize decision making.

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • Work with the CRO to develop the company’s strategic Go to Market (GTM) strategy and plan across sales, success, and marketing to meet or exceed bookings objectives and in alignment with the company’s annual operating plan (AOP)
  • Establish a quota allocation model & capacity plan in support of the GTM strategy and booking and retention objectives working with sales operations and finance
  • Establish commission plan architecture and model in support of aligning sales with the objectives of the GTM plan
  • Analyze risks and track status of key sales, marketing, and success initiatives
  • Establish and lead operating processes and tools for effectively managing the organization, including actively tracking key trends in lagging/leading metrics.
  • Help initiate and manage the business and core meetings (weekly, monthly and quarterly) including forecast, staff meetings, account planning and strategy, quarterly business reviews, pipeline calls to develop and communicate strategy and status. Optimize continuously in pursuit of efficiency, agility and impact. Guardian of productive conversations
  • Provide insightful data-driven strategic recommendations to GTM leadership. Communicate findings from initiatives to management and the broader organization
  • Partner closely with other functions relevant to the team, including Product and Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Legal and Operations. Use cross-functional knowledge and seek to understand issues, trends and perspectives that may influence the business
  • Drive the team towards clear, efficient and accountable decision making. Distill and cascade core tenets of our strategy for board, leadership and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as a point of contact between top management and other stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years working with sales leadership to develop and implement go to market strategy
  • 5+ years working with sales, marketing, professional services, success organizations to drive intragroup effectiveness
  • 5+ years interfacing with executive leadershipAbility to define metrics for success and track KPIs towards those metrics
  • Organized, detail-oriented, strategic, and process driven
  • Top caliber interpersonal skills: ability to communicate, present, influence, and explain across multiple cross-functional stakeholders and up to the C-level
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to drive initiatives from start to completion. You make things happen and don’t need to ask for permission first
  • Complete integrity, presence, and confidence. Ability to influence at all levels in the organization. Flexibility in a dynamic, ever changing environment
  • Competence in making timely, effective, principles-based decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate license agreements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Effective program management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead complex strategic and operational initiatives
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify strategic needs, lead all aspects of planning with sound business recommendations, and generate alignment with key business partners
  • History of working across multiple business lines and functions - including operations, product, engineering, hardware, supply chain, marketing, finance, policy, legal, HR, recruiting, communications, and S&P
  • Added bonus - previous experience as a Chief of Staff or COO within technology/ high-growth company
  • Prior work experience in sales, development, marketing and finance teams
  • Experience working with channels, both domestically and internationally
  • Experience with SAAS/Hosted pricing and GTM businesses models, including retention
  • Practical knowledge of sales operations, FP&A, and revenue recognition
  • Experience developing and implementing strategies and sales programs to shorten sales on-boarding, and increase revenue
