The Senior Operations Data Analyst will serve as a key member of the Operations Data & Analytics Office (ODAO), within the Center of Excellence (CoE). This role will analyze data and processes in order to provide useful and actionable information to the business and provide historical, current and predictive views of business operations.

While this role will have a focus on the Operations team, they will also assist cross departmentally providing tools, data, and insights needed to make strategic decisions.

The successful candidate will provide leadership related to BI activities within Operations and have a proven capability to gather relevant data from multiple, disparate sources and bring it together in a meaningful way that allows leaders to effectively monitor and manage their business. The incumbent will have the required experience to turn business goals into questions and provide the deliverables required to answer those questions from an informed position.

Selected success criteria in this role will include:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create visual, tabular, and geographical data elements that clearly identify business performance, drivers of operational efficiency, and revenue growth;
  • Triage requests and gather user requirements to effectively fulfill business needs;
  • Define and document processes, best practices, and strategies for existing and future BI solutions
  • Be a leader in the creation of analysis and reporting requirements to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions;
  • Understand complex business processes by interacting with cross functional teams and business leaders and then advocating for Operations needs at all levels.
  • Partner with the Operations team to dissect incoming data, create and deliver KPIs, and target areas of opportunity;
  • Work closely with the Database Administration team to understand complex data structures and advise in the creation and enhancement of data warehouses and business analysis services;
  • Empower team members at all levels of the organization by providing the information required to operate more efficiently;

  • 5-7 Years proven experience
  • Proven ability to provide leadership and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including technical teams and senior leadership;
  • Proven ability to dissect business processes and develop associated KPIs that will directly relate to performance;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SQL, and relational databases;
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools, particularly Power BI;
  • Familiarity with geoprocessing methodologies and tools such as ArcMap or QGIS;
  • Understanding of dimensional data models and analysis services;
  • Demonstrated experience in proactively identifying opportunities to use data resulting in recommendations in Operations efficiencies
  • Proven ability to dissect business processes and develop associated KPIs that will directly relate to performance;
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills


Education Requirements

  • Four-year degree in an analytical area such as Business Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or an appropriate combination of education and significant experience.
