How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Manage SQL Server databases
  • Maintain existing systems, processes, and databases
  • Perform product evaluations and make product recommendations
  • Identify and implement improvements to our systems/architecture
  • Deploy new database components in highly complex environments
  • Provide training to other colleagues on related procedures and activities
  • Collaborate and support the design and implementation of our new Snowflake data platform

 Technical Responsibilities:

  • Support EagleView's databases and supporting infrastructure (primarily SQL Server).
  • Generate, configure, and optimize the performance of the databases.
  • Optimize current and implement additional monitoring to increase visibility and proactive response to potential database or environmental issues.
  • Participate in planning software upgrades and database system patching.
  • Provide outage resolution support and perform analysis to resolve recurring database issues.
  • Assist in the review of SQL queries and other application database actions to optimize performance via guide plans, etc.
  • Work with necessary teams to identify and report application bugs.
  • Provide database support for software development and application projects.
  • Participate in multifunctional database projects which may include design, implementation, maintenance of new databases, and configuration management.
  • Develop, maintain, and participate in database backup strategy and disaster recovery plans.
  • Support capacity planning needs.
  • Document the database landscape and workflows to promote knowledge sharing across support personnel.

 

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead the database production support team with patience and strong decision-making.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Provide project updates and weekly operational updates to senior leadership.
  • Provide mentorship to other database administrators and promote best practices.
  • Identify, and act on, areas for process improvement, and automation.
  • Create, and ensure adherence to, necessary team procedures.

 


  • 9-11 years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator
  • 7-10 years of experience supporting SQL Databases for Enterprise Applications
  • 7-10 years of experience with Windows Server 2008-2019, SQL Server 2008-2019
  • 4-5 years of management or team lead experience within a DBA team
  • 5-6 years of experience with performance tuning and optimization
  • 2-3 years of experience with PostgreSQL architecture and administration
  • 3-4 years of experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • 2-3 years of experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
  • 2-3 years of experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

Desired Skills:

  • Strong experience as a Database Administrator within an enterprise-class software company
  • Strong Windows Engineering/Administration knowledge and experience
  • Understanding and experience within hybrid cloud environments
  • Thorough understanding of SQL Server best practices within a global enterprise-class application
  • Knowledge and experience with AWS (EC2, RDS/Aurora Postgres, Lambda, S3)
  • Proven experience assisting in the design, implementation, support, and scaling of SQL Server databases
  • Experience with web app development technologies such as C#, python, PHP, etc.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills at an enterprise level
  • Solid business acumen and relationship management skills
  • Excellent team player who values the importance of customer service
  • A wide degree of creative and lateral thinking required
  • A strong desire to establish, and proven track record of establishing, standards of best practice
  • Experience with process improvement and operational efficiency projects - both leading and supporting
  • Strong desire to lead, mentor, and coach others

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor's Degree within Computer Science, or related field, preferred
  • Microsoft Administrator and SQL Server related certifications a plus
  • AWS Administrator and Database technology related certifications a plus
