The Job:

The Payroll and Benefits Administrator will oversee the payroll processing and benefits administration for all Tangocardians, across multiple office locations and states. As part of the Employee Experience team this role will play a crucial part in ensuring that all Tangocardians are able to focus on our clients, customers, and users, knowing that their payroll and benefits needs will be handled swiftly and accurately. 

Reports to: Director of Employee Experience

As a Payroll & Benefits Administrator at Tango Card, you will:

  • Facilitate the processing of semi-monthly payroll accurately and timely for multiple states and subsidiaries
  • Review and analyze current payroll, benefits, and tax procedures to ensure compliance with applicable US laws and regulations
  • Oversee processing of garnishments and other required payroll deductions, including child support garnishments, medical support orders, QDRO, etc., in accordance with law
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of all payroll transactions
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by ensuring information is kept confidential
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors in a timely manner
  • Register Tango Card in new states for payroll, unemployment, and worker’s compensation as part of our remote work option
  • Review existing as well as new related legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising on needed actions as required
  • Provide oversight and administration of employer sponsored benefit plans including 401K, healthcare, annual open enrollment, and transportation benefits
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Employee Experience

Tango Card’s ideal Payroll & Benefits Administrator will have most of the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Finance preferred, or equivalent experience
  • CPP or CPS certification preferred
  • 3+ years pay/comp administration experience
  • Working familiarity in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel; HRIS (Namely), 
  • Well organized with an excellent eye for detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality
