Role Description

We’re looking for a creative, strategically minded writing leader to join the Dropbox brand studio. As our associate writing director, you’ll supply the craft excellence, systems thinking, and voice prowess we need to bring our brand to life. 

Responsibilities

  • Refine and scale Dropbox’s brand voice across our product, marketing, and internal comms teams
  • Refine and scale our product naming approach and process 
  • Write or edit key company initiatives 
  • Direct and edit writing from agencies and other teams at Dropbox 
  • Maintain a high quality bar for writing at Dropbox 
  • As needed: Hire and manage full-time and contract writers

Requirements

  • 7+ years of brand copywriting and content strategy, UX writing, and/or content design experience
  • 2+ experience managing, directing, and/or mentoring other writers 
  • A simple, fresh writing style—you know what to emphasize, and what to cut 
  • Ability to drive complex writing initiatives  
  • Experience defining and rolling out a brand voice system
  • Experience naming tech products and features (bonus: you’ve built naming systems and guidelines)
  • You work well with with engineers, strategists, marketers, designers, and executives

As the engineering manager for Dropbox’s international growth team, Damian Łukasik spends his days helping a team of engineers build solutions to serve the company’s customers outside of the United States and helping to grow the Poland engineering hub. While his role encompasses an array of responsibilities, Łukasik’s mission is clear across functions: to build a strong foundation for Dropbox’s international team to scale. And he knows exactly what will make that possible: a collaborative internal culture and a customer-centric approach to make the right choices as the team moves forward.

Additional Perks + Benefits

In order to be successful in our Virtual First environment we needed to make changes that would allow employees to have more control over both where and how they work. Therefore, we embrace “non-linear workdays” with defined core collaboration hours that overlap across time zones. Beyond that, we encourage employees to design their own schedules to balance collaboration with needs for individual focus.
