Director, Corporate Planning
Role Description
As Director, Corporate Planning, you will work closely with the VP of Strategy and Business Operations to create and implement the corporate planning process for Dropbox. The corporate planning process includes strategic planning, operational planning, and working with Finance to put those inputs into our Financial Planning Process. As part of corporate planning, we will also set goals/OKR/key metrics for the Executive Team and work with HR to ensure every Dropboxer has goals for the coming year. Key outputs from the corporate planning process will be (i) refined/revised corporate and business strategies, (ii) strategic roadmap, (ii) long range plan, (iv) corporate, business, functional group operating plans, (v) next year's budget (Finance led, strategy process provides input), and (vi) next year's goals (OKRs) and key metrics. Having a rigorous, streamlined process will allow Dropbox to find the largest opportunities and organize around activities that will deliver the most value to customers, potential customers, and shareholders over time.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Dropbox’s VP, Strategy and Business Operations to design and execute Dropbox’s corporate planning process
- Drive the strategic long range planning process in collaboration with Finance to set long-term targets
- Collaborate with the Executive Team, senior leaders, and cross-function teams to develop business cases and define a strategic roadmap
- Define the operational planning process and work with business and functional leaders to plan and execute our strategic roadmap
- Support Finance in developing next year’s budget by serving as a subject matter expertise on our strategic roadmap
- Guide development of our goals and OKR process at the Executive Team level and work with Human Resources to implement a process for every Dropboxer to have a set of SMART goals
Requirements
- 10+ years experience in business management, strategy, or management consulting
- 5+ years experience leading complex, cross-functional projects with multiple partners; experience with a scaling business is a plus
- Experience running company planning processes, partnering on strategic roadmaps, and developing OKR’s
- Strong relationship-building skills and experience working closely with senior executives, the ability to develop strong working relationships with business functions quickly to develop plans and drive execution
- Highly analytical, good at breaking down problems and delivering actions
- Low ego attitude: willing to shift from high-level critical thinking, to rolling up your sleeves and supporting implementation
- Comfortable with ambiguity and a dynamic business landscape
- Quantitative or STEM focused Bachelor’s degree; M.B.A. or other advanced technical degree strongly preferred
Total Rewards
For candidates hired in San Francisco metro, New York City metro, or Seattle metro, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $234,300 - $275,700 - $317,100.
For candidates hired in the following locations: Austin (TX) metro, Chicago metro, California (outside SF metro), Colorado, Connecticut (outside NYC metro), Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York (outside NYC metro), Oregon, Pennsylvania (outside NYC or DC metro), Washington (outside Seattle metro) and Washington DC metro, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $210,900 - $248,100 - $285,300.
For candidates hired in all other US locations, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for this role is currently $187,500 - $220,600 - $253,700.
Range(s) is subject to change. Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation. Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use.
Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
