Job Description
The Role
The Director, Agile Technical Program Management will report directly to ServiceNow’s Sr. Vice President, Product, Solutions and Digital Marketing. S/he will be responsible for effectively mobilizing teams and the broader organization to deliver business outcomes in alignment with company strategy and the need for greater market agility. This includes directing strategic programs, setting agile operational direction and driving communication efforts that cut across the organization, collaborating with strategic business partners and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities for this role includes…
- applying product-driven agile techniques and approaches to complex business problems
- demonstrating measurable progress against product delivery goals, such as, predictability, quality, cost savings, early ROI, appropriate feedback loops, and customer satisfaction
- forming partnerships within the organization to ensure that the right work is done in the right order
- transforming business strategy into a nimble and scalable system of delivery
- creating sequenced and clear product backlogs and the conditions required to reliably deliver tested, quality incremental value to our customers
- identifying and analyzing impediments that may hinder delivery – at the individual, team, and organizational levels
- creating knowledge bases to streamline operations and business continuity
- conducting analysis, identifying causal data, drawing conclusions, and outlining findings for cross-functional leaders
- identifying opportunities to create cross group collaboration and synergies
- maximizing organizational effectiveness by balancing priorities, meetings, decision-making forums and communication / documentation channels
- partnering to optimize systems, tools, training, and standards to improve product delivery and quality
- evaluating existing initiatives and managing the intake and demand pipelines
- driving crucial conversations with leadership to define strategic business cases and shared measurable business outcomes
- reducing interdependencies and duplication of efforts to optimize value flow
- serving as point of escalation for teams working through conflicts, ambiguity, and constraints
- driving a culture of continuous improvement and learning throughout the organization
- building and developing high performing teams through regular feedback and mentoring
- anticipating roadblocks and proactively addressing issues before they impact business results
- actively listening to ensure feedback drives new initiatives and identifies areas of improvement
Qualifications
The right candidate’s experience includes…
- 15+ years of relevant experience with some of it in a fast pace, high growth organization
- demonstrated knowledge of agile and process improvement methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban)
- experience building, leading, coaching, and mentoring high performing teams
- ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders, including in remote locations
- advanced problem-solving, conflict resolution, active listening, and time management
- facilitating, leading and planning meetings, reviews, and retrospectives
- strategic and product planning/thinking and tactical day-to-day implementation needs
- experience leading large program management efforts including establishing effective governance structures, cross functional coordination, and executive stakeholder management and reporting
- critical thinking and business curiosity
- proven motivational leadership with a keen interest in developing team members
- excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred
- MBA or advanced degree
- PgMP, PMP and/ or SAFe Agile certifications
