The Director of Project Management has the primary responsibility to support all FLEXE project management and process improvement activities across several departments. The FLEXE marketplace model matches a wide variety of clients to a large bank of third party warehouses, and supports launching the warehouse site to meet the clients’ fulfillment needs.

You enable speed and growth at FLEXE by ensuring that the most effective and efficient project plan is used to meet client needs and warehouse capabilities. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will lead and develop a team of project managers, and help grow the team as the company continues to increase the quantity and complexity of implementations. We are looking for a transformational leader with proven experience in scaling an organization with aggressive year over year revenue targets. You will be a critical cross-functional leader who can successfully partner with sales, operations, supply, product and integrations teams to ensure a successful implementation.

Core Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a growing team, providing positive and critical feedback and coaching, helping create and manage team goals, and creating a great, inclusive team culture as well as involvement in recruiting and hiring.
  • Provide strategic direction for key company initiatives 
  • Create a ‘Center of Excellence’ to nurture project management practitioners and share knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Influence and design organizational support structures best suited to sustain aggressive year over year growth targets for both current and future revenue channels

Implementation & Project Management

  • Provide exceptional leadership support for implementation of new client engagements and business expansion with existing customers from onboarding through go-live and steady state. 
  • Ensure smooth onboarding of all FLEXE 3PL warehousing projects across multiple locations in the US and Canada, addressing areas for improvement. 
  • Spearhead operational and implementation improvement initiatives both specific to client needs and across the organization.
  • Expand scope to include process improvements and additional initiatives to be managed by the team. 
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure solution and go-live plans meet the needs of both warehouse and client.
  • Manage the risk, issue and change resolution process, and work with other leaders to take corrective action as needed.
  • Oversee Project Managers for the delivery of projects/programs on time, within scope and on budget.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • 10+ years experience
  • Expert-level knowledge of project and change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes and approaches (e.g. Project and Portfolio Management Methodology – PPM)
  • Budget, cost and profitability management skills
  • Knowledge of resource management tools
  • Experience supporting teams that are managing multiple project launches per month
  • Credibility as a senior-level project leader
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to juggle multiple goals and deadlines in the context of the big picture
  • Team Leadership & Development: Ability to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others
  • Facilitation, Negotiation & Problem Resolution Skills: Ability to build a strong network and relationships at executive levels with technology and solutions, customers and vendor groups
  • Resilience and resourcefulness
