The Role:


The Technical Program Manager will have a direct impact on the future of Tango Card, receiving and providing thought leadership around Tango Card’s business systems and identification of opportunities for business process improvement. As our team’s first Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will collaborate with key stakeholders and teammates to scale business processes and drive progress on impactful initiatives. You will get to research and report on trends and patterns, as well as make data-driven recommendations to prioritize our work. You will play a crucial role in our success through agile project and backlog management to enable our team to administer, configure, and develop enterprise applications, automations, and integrations with a best-of-breed suite of tools.


The Technical Program Manager, Business Systems reports to our Director of Business Systems Adam Cole.

As a Technical Program Manager at Tango Card, you will:

  • Manage and improve inbound flow of requests, triaging issues and prioritizing our backlog
  • Develop and plan projects and timelines as appropriate, inclusive of multiple work streams to outline tasks, milestones, status, and sustainable allocation of resources
  • Guide gathering of requirements, identify and recommend improvements in process and technology to scale, oversee product evaluation, selection, design and implementation
  • Translate business requirements in to user stories and requirements for execution using agile methodologies
  • Oversee internal and partner development work on our key business systems with a focus on high quality output
  • Coordinate QA and UAT for the team and managed projects
  • Maintain documentation for business processes, systems, and solutions
  • Utilize workflow diagramming and data modeling to improve the flow of information as well as provide assets for functional and technical development
  • Problem solve and use good decision making skills to quickly overcome obstacles by understanding the appropriate level of urgency and business impact
  • Oversee deployment of changes outside of normal business hours as necessary to minimize disruption
  • Act as a key team escalation point for issues and incidents
  • Collaborate with Business Systems leaders to develop best practices, change management strategies, and efficient and effective internal processes to drive continuous delivery

Our ideal Technical Program Manager will bring most of the following experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5+ years relevant work experience in Program and/or Project Management
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks of varying and/or similar priority (urgent vs important)
  • Managed cross-functional delivery spanning application boundaries
  • Background in business systems, such as CRM (Salesforce and Service Cloud), ERP (NetSuite), Marketing Automation (HubSpot), HRIS (Namely), automation/integration platforms (Workato, Tray.io, Boomi), and/or other enterprise applications
  • Experience with agile planning tools such as Jira
  • Proficiency with SQL and other query languages to self-serve data for reporting and analysis
  • Comprehension of and experience with data modeling and structures
  • Passion for eliciting and defining business and system requirements in an agile environment
  • QA and other testing experience, including end user acceptance (UAT) testing
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of business
