The role integrates technical, statistical, and industry skills to achieve the company’s vision for reinventing transportation. We are looking for entrepreneurial and deeply technical Product Operations Managers to execute across a rapidly growing, fast paced company and industry.

 

As Lyft works toward building a sustainable urban transportation system, understanding how core geographic data features interconnect is critical to both the Lyft experience today and the autonomous vehicle's technology being built. Our mapping team is charged with ensuring that all of the locations and routes connecting them to provide the most accurate and efficient experience for Lyft drivers and passengers. The team addresses the growing complexity of mapping data needed to support new markets, new experiences, and autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities: 
  • Lead iterative delivery of strategic cross-functional initiatives from concept to ship, through focus, transparency, communication, visibility, and accountability
  • Leverage technical expertise with large-scale, distributed 24x7 production systems to build comprehensive plans, to identify risks
  • Partner with engineering, product, and business leadership to build highly collaborative teams and to enhance communication across teams and stakeholders
  • Detail oriented with superior organizational skills -- balancing multiple projects, deadlines, and requests from multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to design and implement experiments by determining key metrics, collecting key data and analyzing results.
  • Strong communication skills including experience documenting new processes writing complex data specifications.
  • Management of a spatial/geographic data-focused operations team
Experience & Skills:
  • 2-5 years as a TPM or program manager
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects iteratively with multiple dependencies and constraints, in a highly dynamic and agile environment
  • Proven ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of extreme ambiguity, with only high-level direction
  • Able to communicate highly technical problems and solutions at all levels
  • Able to influence, negotiate and inspire others in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent organization, planning skills, and attention to detail
  • Experience delivering projects in large-scale, distributed production systems and 24x7 production operations
  • Experience building, scaling and motivating a successful data-focus operations team.
  • An academic background in Computer Science, Geography or related degrees.
  • GIS / Mapping technology exposure and experience is highly preferred
