What you’ll be doing…

As a Technical Program Manager focused on Security, you’ll use your technical knowledge and program management expertise to deliver programs that build trust and protect our customers. You will help build new systems to aid in secure development, threat detection and remediation, and incident response. You will lead efforts to uplift security at Tableau and drive change across the company to protect our customers, employees, and products. This role reports directly to Tableau’s Sr. Manager of Governance and will operate within the Security Operations team.

 

Some of the things you’ll be doing include …

  • Drive security initiatives to improve the company’s security posture by mitigating security and data privacy risks.
  • Track, measure, and report on the status of all assigned programs/projects.
  • Assist with resource management for the programs you manage and escalate conflicts.
  • Manage and curate security/privacy policies and standards that align with company’s overarching policies, procedures and regulatory needs.
  • Liaise to IT and regulatory compliance for internal and external security operations audit activities.
  • Facilitate collection of evidence and scheduling of resources required for security operations control walkthroughs.
  • Perform testing of controls owned by the security operations team and audit systems, services, and processes to verify adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Drive security operations remediation efforts for deficiencies and develop and implement compensating controls.
  • Track, measure, and report on the status of risk mitigation efforts for security operations.

 

Who you are…

  • Technically Savvy. Project and program management capabilities to drive overarching security projects and efforts cross‐functionally. Ability to work in a hybrid environment that supports both Agile and Waterfall projects. Experienced at successfully driving projects in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Broad Security Awareness and Leadership. Create deliverables such as SISs, project plans, resource plans, short presentation decks, etc. to support Security Operations programs.
  • Team Player. Partnering with product security, information security, software development, compliance, sales, legal, finance, and internal audit teams to support security operations related efforts. 
  • Knowledgeable. Knowledge in SaaS, Cloud Computing, Enterprise infrastructure, etc. with a focus on how these technologies are used to communicate, collect, use and/or share information.
  • Strong Communicator. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers, managers, and staff.
  • Problem Solver. Ability to dig into hard problems and know how to find practical solutions. Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic; self‐directed and resourceful.
  • Organized. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage workload with competing and shifting priorities.
  • Experienced. 6+ years managing Security and/or IT related projects. 2+ years managing large scale cross functional Security or IT programs. Demonstrated knowledge of data privacy and risk management concepts. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Business, Accounting or a related field. Relevant professional certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, ITIL, Six Sigma, CISA, or CISSP a plus.
