About the Role:
As a Senior Technical Writer, you'll write customer-focused product documentation. You'll set the example for best practices in user-centered technical writing, and you'll work with SMEs and managers to develop a deep understanding of complex products and sales processes.
Are you a Sr. Technical Writer Candidate?

  • Are you great at writing complex topics into plain language?
  • Are you great at process documentation?
  • Have you created both technical and marketing style materials?
  • Can you tell a story with a point, using the elements of the story to cement the knowledge?
  • Do you have experience in developing materials for both technical and non-technical audiences?
  • Do you have experience writing web based content?


What You'll Do:

  • Produce high-quality documentation- sales processes, internal business processes, and marketing releases to guide and educate customers.
  • Develop and write business system documentation for the organization's day-to-day operations.
  • Develop customer learning journey documentation in order to clearly convey their job role learning paths and requirements.
  • Embrace and help refine our modern, conversational voice and tone.
  • Help build our writing team's standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Project manage and assign tasks to technical writers, graphic designers, SMEs, and perform quality assurance.
  • Maintain content on multiple internal websites and wikis to make it easy for the team and customers to perform their job.
  • Develop internal technical writing business processes to streamline day-to-day technical writing and editing requests.
  • Advocate for the customer in all aspects of your job.
  • Help define our team's strategy and vision while also independently managing your own projects.


What You'll Need:
Successful candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas. You should have some background in education, but you don't need an Ed.D. If you've taught formally or informally before, think about how that experience could extend to this position.

  • Demonstrated understanding of topic-based authoring and reusable information architecture.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with tight deadlines and high expectations.
  • Excellent writing skills, including thoughtful information hierarchy, great sentence structure, and a conversational yet professional voice.
  • Embrace a user-centric approach to focus on what the customer needs, not what the system does.
  • Experience exploring a customer's problem space and addressing their needs through documentation.
  • Exceptional audience analysis, written and verbal communication, and problem solving.
  • Strong grasp of user experience fundamentals.
  • Portfolio of writing samples that communicate technical information in a modern, conversational voice and tone.


Additionally, all candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience with technical audiences and cybersecurity strongly preferred.
  • Experience using a Component Content Management System (CCMS).
  • Demonstrated ability to make complex technical subjects easy to comprehend.
  • Passion for seizing opportunities for improvement at every turn.


Education
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Education, Marketing, English, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, Information Security, Information Assurance, Information Security Management, Intelligence Studies, Cybersecurity, Cybersecurity Policy, or a related field. Relevant equivalent pedagogical, industry or military experience is equally valuable..
Bonus Points:

  • Prior experience in functional areas of Human Resources, Consulting, Technical Training, or Sales Engineering is helpful but not required.
  • Experience in a high growth, cloud native or cybersecurity company.
  • 2+ years of experience writing and editing technical documentation in the information technology industry.
